Constant Change

in Life Coaching

I recently heard someone say, “The only constant in life is change,” and as usual, this got me thinking. What a great little tidbit to remember when we find ourselves surprised by all of life’s twists and turns.

It’s thoughts like this that bring me comfort. If we expect regular change, then the events that catch us off guard don’t have to have severe negative impacts on our lives. And if we expect change and find ourselves in a funk, comfort can be found in the fact that change is on it’s way.

Change can be scary for folks. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone who claimed to love change. More common statements are, “I don’t do well with change,” and “I hate change,” but change doesn’t have to be seen as scary or bad.

I think change shows up in our lives just when we need it. It doesn’t always feel warm and fuzzy, because with change we often must step out of our comfortzones. There are always lessons to be learned though, and think about how boring life would get if everything always stayed the same.

It’s not always easy to recognize, but with every change, comes opportunity—the opportunity to do things differently, to learn from our pasts, and to gain new insights into ourselves and our lives.

Changes in our circumstances (i.e.-the loss of a job or the start of a new one, a new or “failed” relationship, moving homes, having a child or one leaving the nest, etc.) often force us to change in order to cope. It’s in those moments that we get to choose how we want to show up in life.

When change comes your way, do you want to be a frazzled wreck, or be at ease going with the flow and trusting in life? I don’t know about you, but I choose the latter.

I know it can be much easier said than done, but when we acknowledge that change is inevitable, we can stop resisting it when it comes our way—because it will—it always does.

Change is good—and even though we may feel uneasy at times, change just means endless possibilities, and that can be super-exciting!

That’s it—that’s all I got for ya!

Happy day my lovelies!!
