It Will All Work Out…It Always Does

in Life Coaching

It will all work out.

How would you feel if you believed this?

Things may not always go exactly as planned, and they may not “work out” the way you had hoped, but in most instances when you are faced with difficulties, life does go on.

Let me tell you, I’ve had one hell of a week…well actually two.

It all seemed to start with me trying to jam way too much into my already jam packed schedule, and not fully understanding how I would squeeze everything in. I set up an important business lunch, and the caterers forgot to deliver the food. Then my car broke down, I had to have it towed, got a rental, and the dealership lost my car. My three year old suddenly developed motion sickness and puked all over the rental. I wiped out while stretching at my spin class and got the mother of all bruises. My ankle, out of no where started feeling like it was sprained, my back was bothering me, a taxi rear ended me, a pebble made a ding in my windshield, and my daughter turned into a complete crazy person once school ended. I’ve had more than one moment, where I was on the verge of losing my mind.

The one thing that kept me sane, was the thought, “It will all work out…because it always does.” Oh, and humor of course helped too. At some point, I just started laughing at all of the ridiculousness coming my way. It felt like the universe decided to play a big joke on me, but I decided to think of it all as an opportunity to handle things differently than I maybe would have in the past.

I have practiced thinking, “It will all work out” for quite some time. It’s actually one of my many mantras that helps me cope more productively on a day to day basis. When I’m stuck in traffic, it will all work out. When I’m trying to meet a deadline, it will all work out. When I’m trying to squeeze a client into my already busy schedule, it will all work out.

Remember, a belief is just a repeated thought. The more your practice telling yourself this, the easier it is to believe, and eventually it becomes second nature to think it. You can actually choose calm and ease, over stress, by reminding yourself that life always goes on, and what you feel stressed about today will all just be a thing of the past at some point.

I had a client who made herself crazy over whether or not any schools were going to accept her son who has special needs. Then it turned out, every school she applied to, wanted him. She realized in hindsight, she spent hours upon hours worried about something that didn’t even happen. It all worked out…in a way she never even imagined!

Think about all the times you got worked up over something that has absolutely no bearing on your life today. If you had just been in a place of knowing things would all work out somehow, you could have spared yourself a lot of turmoil. You have that choice now moving forward.

Give it a try! When you’re worried about money, it will all work out. When you are stressed about your weight, it will all work out. When you want to find love, it will all work out. When you’re freaking out about your home renovations, it will all work out…it always does.

When you can let go of trying to control the outcomes in situations, trusting in life can become almost effortless. Life does not always go as planned. In fact, it almost never does. When we can surrender to whatever is thrown our way, navigating the tricky moments in a peaceful state becomes so much easier!

Happy day!!
